“What I realized after so many years is that it’s not just the academics that build you as an individual. There are a lot of other aspects that build your personality, and that’s something that helped me become the person I am,” said Ravi Kajaria while reminiscing his time at Ryan International Group of Institutions.
Upon being asked about his favourite teacher, he said, “I used to like Chemistry and Biology a lot, and my biology teacher Shobha ma’am was indeed the best. She was a really caring person. I used to go to her with silly questions, and still, she would answer them patiently. She was an excellent mentor.”
According to Ravi, his favourite hangout spot in the school premises used to be the computer lab. “There were just six to eight computer systems in the lab at that time, and yet I liked to spend time there instead of any other place. Spending time in the computer lab inclined me towards IT, and encouraged me to pursue a career in the same,” he says.
Talking about one of the most special memories during his time at Ryan International Group of Institutions, Ravi said, “During the farewell party, Madam Grace Pinto came up to me and asked me to give a speech. This was a surprise for me, since I wasn’t the brightest kid of the batch. After I was finished with my speech, Madam Pinto said that she expected me to be on the merit list. The confidence she had in me — it really encouraged me to do better — and here I am today.”
The friendship bonds formed in the school continue till this day, as Ravi and his school buddies are constantly in touch with each other through WhatsApp. Being a Xavierite is a matter of immense pride for him, and he believes that he owes his success to the values he nurtured at St. Xavier’s High School.
